In August 2021 comments made by Dr. Kobi Haviv, the medical director of Israel’s leading center for respiratory care have been quoted by many news outlets. Some have sensationalised the data to promote the view that the vaccine (predominantly Pfizer in Israel) is not effective against the Delta strain; others to imply that the Delta strain is somehow more capable of 'breaking through' the protection offered by the vaccine.
